WHAT IS FOOTGOLF?
FootGolf combines two great sports: football and golf.
FootGolf is played on a golf course using a football, with 18 holes of play. The purpose of the game is to get the ball into the hole using only your feet in the fewest number of shots possible.
FootGolf is an exhilarating sport, joining the features of the two most popular sports in the world. The beauty of the game lies in you being able to strategically use power and precision every time you play FootGolf.
This is a great, unique outdoor activity based in Belfast. It is suitable for all ages and groups, including: families, birthday parties, hen and stag parties, team bonding and corporate away days. Children under 6 can also play for free if accompanied by an adult.
Everything you need to know about FootGolf
EVERYTHING YOU NEED
To make sure you are fully equipped to play FootGolf at Mount Ober, we advise that you bring a standard size 4 or 5 football. This is so you can play the game properly and keep track of your wins.
Alternatively, you can hire a size 5 ball for £1 per player when you arrive at the activity centre.
In terms of footwear, we allow moulded football boots (mouldys), AstroTurf football boots, golf shoes and trainers. We do not allow large studded or bladed football boots.
All types of shirts including named football shirts and shorts are acceptable. Shirts must be kept on at all times.
There are several rules that must be followed in order to enjoy FootGolf to the fullest:
Keep pace with the other groups in play.
If you fall behind, let players pass.
Wait for the ball to come to a complete stop before the next kick.
Tee shots must be played from behind the tee line up to 2 metres.
Play the ball as it lies, you cannot touch or accommodate it.
Only one ball must be in motion at any one time.
Loose articles may be removed without penalty (branches, leaves, stones etc.).
You can lift or drop a ball without penalty if an immovable obstruction hinders play (tee sign, fence, cart etc.).
If a ball is deemed out of bounds or unplayable, it can be dropped in play with a one stroke penalty, but no more than 1 metre closer to the hole or alternatively it can be replayed from the previous shot.
When another player is to play, do not stand directly behind them or in line with the hole as this may cause a distraction.
Maximum score is 10 shots per hole.
